Since 1998, I have primarily focused my practice in family law. After working for six years for two of the top family law firms in DC, I opened my own practice and obtained my training in mediation and Collaborative Divorce. Being a sole practitioner allows me the luxury of dealing with my clients one-on-one. The benefit to my clients is personalized attention and a hands-on approach to managing their case. I am actively involved in family law matters within various Bar associations and in volunteer capacities throughout the community. In June 2007, I was elected by my peers to a three-year term as a member of the DC Bar Family Law Steering Committee, and in July 2007, I was accepted into the Collaborative Divorce Association (CDA) group in Bethesda, MD.
Experience and Compassion
The practice of family law involves experience and a contemporary knowledge of the latest laws. It also involves compassion towards my clients facing perhaps the most difficult time in their lives. Emotions run high and relationships between spouses and with children run the risk of being damaged. A divorce is hard enough on the family without the matter becoming a contentious courtroom battle between family lawyers.
Mediation and Collaborative Divorce
My primary goal as a family lawyer is to resolve your divorce or other family law issues through collaboration and mediation. In both mediation and Collaborative Divorce, I use my training and hands-on experience to help you resolve your issues in a dignified and amicable manner. I am passionate about mediation and Collaborative Divorce because I believe it is in the best interests of everyone involved to resolve their issues outside of court. Practically speaking, they are more cost-effective and less time-consuming approaches, but more importantly you are able to preserve goodwill.
